Emergency Relief Support (ER)
Provide life-saving emergency relief to people affected by disasters such as earthquakes, floods, landslides, fires, droughts, epidemics and starvation through timely distribution of food and essential non-food items, helping restore dignity, rebuild lives, and bring hope to affected communities.
Emergency Response 2024-2025
Through our Emergency Response program, NCRS provided essential relief support across 19 disaster affected districts. During this year, we reached out 4258 households, 172 individual including the disabled and elderly, 681 children and even a police station delivering critical aid to those impacted by various disasters. This year also has been a privilege for NCRS to contribute meaningfully to the very purpose for which it was founded to stand with communities in times of crisis and help restore hope, dignity, and resilience.
Earthquake Response 2023
Bajhang Earthquake Response 2023
A magnitude of 5.3 earthquake hit far western Nepal on 3 October 2023 at 14.40 pm followed 26 min later by a significantly stronger 6.3 magnitude. As it took place in the daytime, it gave time for the people to relocate themselves to a safer place after the initial jolt, resulting in fewer human casualties. The epicenter of the earthquake was Bajhang district of the Sudurpaschim Province and the tremors were felt in six neighboring districts.
Jajarkot-Rukum (West) Earthquake Response 2023
A powerful earthquake of magnitude 6.4 had jolted Jajarkot at 11:47 PM on 03 November 2023, severely affecting the remote hill district as well as neighboring Rukum (West). The shallow quake with its epicenter located at Ramidanda of Barekot Rural Municipality in Jajarkot was felt as far as the federal capital Kathmandu and even 600 kilometers away in the Indian capital, New Delhi.
Covid - 19
Since the start of the pandemic COVID-19, our team has been strongly and actively participating in helping the families and communities hit hard by the lockdown due to COVID-19. We have been providing medical supplies, food supplies to the people in the front line as well as people who have been financially affected as a result of the lockdown.
